DARREN MCSTAY

"I believe that our connection with and contribution to the world is far more pleasurable and impactful if we can express ourselves effectively.”

EDUCATION & TRAINING

I first earned a Certificate of Distinction in Speech and Articulation from LAMDA before completing an MA in Acting at East 15 Acting School, where I also gained the equivalent MA in Radio. I’m currently studying Rhetoric: The Art of Persuasive Writing and Public Speaking at Harvard University.

To deepen my understanding of communication and human potential, I also hold diplomas in Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy.

VOCALIST, FILMMAKER & COACH

With over thirty years of professional performance experience, I’ve appeared before more than three and a half million people worldwide in productions for the National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Secret Cinema, and more.

As an actor, singer, and voice coach, I draw on decades of performance work and years of teaching to help others master the art of communication. Through my YouTube channel, I share practical tutorials and have reached over twenty million viewers, growing my subscriber base to just under half a million. My content focuses on clarity, confidence, impact, authority, and vocal health—helping people improve how they sound and express themselves.

I lead workshops and stage presentations on public speaking and have worked as both a judge and mentor within Finland’s start-up community, including events at Maria 01, Microsoft Flux, DASH, and other innovation hubs, where I provide pitch and presentation training for entrepreneurs and creatives.

AWARDS & NOTABLE ACOMPLISHMENTS

In 2020, I reached the finals of the Nordic Business Forum Speaker Contest, presenting a talk titled "The Future of Marketing." Unfortunately, due to COVID, the event was cancelled, and no winner was announced.

My YouTube channel, Improve Your Voice, AKA Vocabilities, has to date over 500 tutorials, reaching over 20 million views, gathering 350 thousand subscribers and continues to evolve and expand its reach to help others find confidence, clarity and ease when speaking.

As a filmmaker, I continue to write and direct stories which look at the absurtities that being human brings. I use my extensive knowledge of scriptwriting and performance to help my clients write and perform their own work and to develop a unique voice not only in the way they speak, but in the words themselves.

Your voice is A powerful ASSET & NEEDS INVESTMENT TO GROW.

Whether you speak, teach, perform or lead, developing your voice elevates your game. Consistency compounds & over time the results speak for themselves.
